由於 16Pin 接頭燒毀案例層出不窮，各家電源供應器紛紛推出保護功能，Corsair 最近發表新款的 RM1200e 電源供應器，其中新增防護設計 PinProtect，能即時監控電流，並在超出功率上限時自動限制功率，以防止顯示卡接頭燒毀。
Corsair RM1200e PinProtect 尬廣跟上
許多玩家都因 16Pin 接頭燒毀案例頻繁出現，不是選擇購買非 16Pin 接頭的顯示卡，就是額外購買 WireView Pro 來保護接頭。隨著電源供應器廠商推出內建防護的產品，玩家也將目光轉向電源供應器的方案。Corsair 在最新的 RM1200e 內，加入了 16Pin 保護機制 PinProtect，這也是 Corsair 首款使用此技術的電源供應器。
PinProtect 過電流保護機制的原理，是在電源供應器的 12V-2x6 每個接點中內建安全防護功能，可即時監控電流。當電流超過預先設定的上限數值時，系統會改變 2 條感測線的狀態，以達到限制供電功率效果，防止 GPU 取得過量電力。此時螢幕畫面會黑掉，代表 GPU 已停止運作，避免顯示卡受到永久性損壞。雖然有保護機制會比較安全，但這類機制也出現過沒發揮預期效果的案例，因此玩家仍須保持謹慎。
COSAIR PinProtect OCP (Over Current Protection) does exactly that. For the first time, CORSAIR has introduced a safety feature built into each pin of the 12V-2x6 connection on the PSU to monitor current in real-time. When the current exceeds predefined thresholds, it limits the power by altering the state of 2 sense wires, preventing the GPU from drawing excess power. At that point, you will see a black screen on your monitor, indicating that your GPU has ceased operation, thereby avoiding permanent damage. This feature is valuable for users with next-generation GPUs, which are known to draw substantial power.
RM1200e 通過 Cybenetics 白金級認證，據 Cybenetics 資料庫顯示，這顆電源供應器由 CWT 代工，考慮到 CWT 幫不少品牌代工電源供應器，或許我們可以期待會有更多具備 16Pin 保護機制的電源供應器出現，當有保護機制的電源供應器越多，對消費者來說也是一件好事。
